Sazgar Engg manufactures and sells automobiles, automotive parts and three-wheelers.
Following is an excerpt from its Directors Report 2026.
Home Appliances:
The company discontinued its Home Appliances business from September 1, 2025 to focus on its core and more profitable automotive businesses. It has no significant assets or liabilities remaining in this segment.
Four-Wheelers:
The company assembles, imports and sells Chinese brands including BAIC, GWM/HAVAL, TANK and ORA. Its range includes petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
Three-Wheelers:
Three-wheelers are sold under the SAZGAR brand in petrol and electric versions for passenger and cargo use. The company is also pursuing exports, including to Japan.
Automotive Parts:
The company manufactures tractor wheel rims and sells spare parts for four- and three-wheelers. Demand depends largely on the tractor and agriculture sectors.
Expansion:
The company completed most of its PKR 11.5bn four-wheeler expansion, including a new assembly line, 5.7MW solar system and warehouses. Trial production of TANK-500 hybrid/PHEV models started in March 2026.
A new PKR 22bn fully automatic paint shop and related expansion has also been approved. Once completed, four-wheeler capacity will rise to 54,000 vehicles per year on a single-shift basis.
Land & Showrooms:
The company approved PKR 4bn for about 900 kanals of land near its car plant for future expansion. It also bought two commercial plots in Lahore for PKR 2.52bn to develop company-owned showrooms, after-sales facilities and offices.
Pakistan Auto Sector
Auto sector recovered strongly in FY2025-26, with total industry volumes rising 30.2% to 2.22 million units.
- Cars: 155,631 units, up from 112,203
- Jeeps & pickups: 50,814, up from 36,057
- Trucks & buses: 8,424, up from 5,232
- Three-wheelers: 41,802, up from 40,381
- Motorcycles: 1.93m, up from 1.48m
- Tractors: 28,791, slightly down from 29,192
Why the recovery: Better economic conditions improved consumer demand and encouraged new investment and new vehicle models, particularly hybrid and electric vehicles.
Key challenges: High inflation, expensive fuel, high KIBOR, limited auto financing, weaker consumer purchasing power and global/regional uncertainty.
Company outlook: The company is focusing on HEVs, PHEVs and EVs. The launch of TANK-500 CKD models is an important step and could strengthen its product range and future revenue/profitability.
